Abstract
SAC's update (See SRO Statistics 1997) on the SICA-reported statistics for participating self-regulatory organizations charts a three-year breakout for seven arbitration forums. Commentary notes the continuing consolidation of arbitration programs, with NASD and NYSE receiving all but 100 of the nearly 6,000 new case filings in 1998.
Individual forum and group statistics are posted for six indices of arbitration activity; data disparity between NASD and NYSE is analyzed for "Awards in Favor of Public," with useful caveats on interpretation to attorneys relying on this measure to choose a forum.
